Our Sailing Programs

1. Learn2Sail Programs

Beginner Friendly: Perfect for those new to sailing, these programs introduce the fundamentals in a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment.

Youth and Family Programs: We offer tailored courses for children, adults, and families, making it easy to learn and have fun together.

2. Club Racing

Regular Racing
FYC conducts racing every Saturday from October through to April. Our sailing calendar caters to all experience levels, from relaxed club sailors to competitive racers.

Diverse Fleets
We welcome a wide range of vessels including dinghies, catamarans and junior fleets, ensuring inclusive and engaging racing opportunities.

Race Results & Leaderboards
Stay up to date with weekly race results and season leaderboards, allowing members to track performance and progress throughout the racing season.

3. Social Sailing

Relaxed Sailing Days:
If racing isn’t your thing, come along to one of our social sailing days. Enjoy a relaxed sail on the bay, connect with fellow members, and take in the stunning waterfront views.

All Skill Levels Welcome:
Social sailing is open to everyone — from complete beginners to experienced sailors wanting a more easygoing day on the water.

4. Youth Sailing

Junior Sailing: Our dedicated programs give children aged seven and above the opportunity to learn to sail in a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment.

Pathway to Racing: For young sailors ready to build on their skills, our programs offer a clear progression into competitive sailing—nurturing confidence, teamwork, and the next generation of champions.

Events and Regattas

Frankston Yacht Club proudly hosts a range of regattas and sailing events throughout the season. Whether you are competing on the water or enjoying the action from shore, these events are a highlight of our sailing calendar.

Annual Club Regatta
A vibrant and inclusive event welcoming sailors of all skill levels, combining competitive racing with social activities and strong community spirit.

Interclub Regattas
Bringing together sailors from across the region for friendly competition, connection, and camaraderie on and off the water.

Membership and Sail Passes

Become a Member

Become a member of FYC and enjoy full access to our sailing programs, club facilities, and vibrant sailing community. Members receive discounted course fees, access to storage facilities, and the opportunity to take part in club racing and social events throughout the year.

Sail Passes for Visitors

• Visiting sailors can join us for a day with a Sail Pass for just $15.
• If you have an Australian Sailing Number, please select Returning Member.
• If you do not have an Australian Sailing Number, please select New Member.
• Sail passes can be purchased online or at the club on arrival.

Facilities and Storage

Our club offers excellent facilities designed to enhance your sailing experience:

Clubhouse: A welcoming space to relax and connect with fellow members after a day on the water.
Boat Storage: Limited on-site storage options are available for members. Enquire to learn more about availability.
Safety: Your safety is our priority, with all races overseen by experienced Race Officers and supported by dedicated safety boats on standby.
